Polymer Rubber Gel

Polymer Rubber Gel exhibits gel-like physical attributes that are ideal for vertical wall and horizontal deck waterproofing. Because the polymer rubber gel never completely cures and remains flexible, it’s ideal for construction sites where foundation settlement, structural movement or vibration, temperature changes or seismic events are a cause for concern. The gel-like consistency of the product allows it to be a truly self-healing and self-sealing monolithic membrane, mitigating potential water intrusion concerns from punctures or damage to the installed system.

Polymer rubber gel has a proven record of effectiveness for both new construction and restoration applications. It bonds well to challenging substrates and conforms well to irregular substrates due to polymer rubber gel’s unique physical attributes as a highly adhesive material. Minimal surface preparation and rapid single liquid applied-layer application techniques make polymer rubber gel systems a highly productive option over traditional materials and methods for both restoration and new construction applications.

This substrate-responsive waterproofing system is ideal for providing peace of mind on high risk projects, while offering efficiency and high performance. Polymer Rubber Gel systems include HydroGel and TurboSeal. Each provide unique advantages for different jobs. Take a look at each system to see which one fits your project’s needs:

HydroGel

HydroGel is a horizontally- and vertically-applied single component, 99% solid, highly elastomeric, hot spray-applied polymer rubber gel (though it can also be applied via pour or squeegee method) with exceptional adhesive properties. HydroGel is used for both pre- and post-applied waterproofing systems for above- and below-grade construction. Its superior flexibility, adhesiveness and self-healing characteristics make Hydrogel the ideal choice for effective, permanent waterproofing. HydroGel can be applied to green concrete, reducing overall project time and costs.

HydroGel Composite Waterproofing System: combines a spray-applied polymer rubber gel membrane with a durable HDPE protection sheet. This system protects the polymer rubber gel and provides an immediately trafficable surface for follow-on trades.

The protection sheets range from fleece-backed and non-fleece HDPE sheets (GFG20X & GFG16), drainage composites, bentonite carpets and protection boards. The flexibility of the polymer rubber gel, combined with the durability of the various protection sheets, creates a high-performance, substrate-responsive waterproofing system. This component makes it ideal for construction where seismic events, foundation settlement, structural vibration/movement and thermal cycling conditions are a concern. HydroGel benefits include:

  • Single component spray-applied application with instantaneous adhesion ensures timely project completion with minimal substrate preparation.
  • Immediate placement of topping materials or backfill is possible.
  • Applies to green concrete; no surface primer necessary.
  • Low odor during application.
  • State of California VOC compliant.
  • Unique polymer rubber gel physical characteristics including self-healing, self-sealing, superior flexibility and adhesive properties.
  • No material loss in application as a 99% solids material.
  • Composite waterproofing system creates dual protection of sheet and polymer rubber gel membrane.
  • Composite polymer rubber gel assembly dynamically responds to substrate movement and provides double protection with HDPE protection sheet and polymer rubber gel membrane.
  • Excellent substrate conforming ability allows versatility of application for both new and restoration waterproofing applications.
  • Environmentally durable to soil contaminants and adverse soil conditions.

Turbo-Seal

Turbo-Seal is a trowel- or squeegee-applied, single component, <1% VOC, highly elastomeric, cold-applied polymer rubber gel with exceptional adhesive properties that contains more than 20% recycled material. Its superior flexibility, adhesiveness and self-healing characteristics make Turbo-Seal the ideal choice for effective, permanent waterproofing. Turbo-Seal can be applied to green concrete, reducing overall project time and costs.

Turbo Seal Composite Waterproofing System: combines a trowel- or squeegee-applied polymer rubber gel membrane with a durable HDPE protection sheet. This system protects the polymer rubber gel and provides an immediately trafficable surface for follow-on trades.

The protection sheets range from fleece-backed and non-fleece HDPE sheets (GFG20X & GFG16), drainage composites, bentonite carpets and protection boards. The flexibility of the polymer rubber gel combined with the durability of the various protection sheets creates a high-performance, substrate-responsive waterproofing system. The flexible polymer rubber gel component makes it ideal for construction where seismic events, foundation settlement, structural vibration/movement and thermal cycling conditions are a concern. As a cold-applied, single component system, application is safe and easy. Turbo-Seal benefits include:

  • Single component, cold-applied trowel or squeegee application with instantaneous adhesion ensures timely project completion with minimal substrate preparation.
  • No material loss in application.
  • Composite waterproofing system creates dual protection of sheet and polymer rubber gel membrane.
  • Composite polymer rubber gel assembly dynamically responds to substrate movement and provides double protection with HDPE protection sheet and polymer rubber gel membrane.
  • Excellent substrate conforming ability allows versatility of application for both new and restoration waterproofing applications.
  • Environmentally durable to soil contaminants and adverse soil conditions.
  • >20% post-consumer recycled content contributes to project LEED qualification.
  • Single component, cold-applied material is safe and easy to apply.
