Venting Systems

Vapor collection systems like Vapor-Vent® are utilized underneath building structures to efficiently collect and discharge contaminate vapors. This serves two purposes: first, it dilutes contaminant vapor concentrations that accumulate under a structure, and second, it helps equalize the pressure differentials between the sub-slab and the building.

For new construction, it is most common to utilize a passive ventilation system (one without mechanical fans) along with a vapor intrusion barrier. For existing structures, it is most common to employ an active ventilation system that utilizes mechanical fans.

EPRO offers a low profile vent material that expedites the construction process by eliminating the need to dig vent trenches, backfill them with filter fabric, gravel and slotted pipe material. Common slotted pipe material often includes more costly PVC or ADS piping.
