The Interstate Regulatory Technology Council (IRTC) has released a brand new Vapor Intrusion Toolkit. Designed to reflect advances in science, policy, and field experience, this latest edition provides a comprehensive overview of vapor intrusion concepts, recommended practices, and decision-making approaches across a wide range of site conditions.

Access the toolkit here.

Such a comprehensive toolkit was possible thanks to the time, expertise, and hard work from many dedicated industry professionals and leaders. EPRO’s Peter Grant also collaborated with the Mitigation group on these documents on a team led by subgroup leaders Matt Jenny and Ashely Blauvelt.

What’s in it?

The goal of the new toolkit is to encompasses and update all of the previous VI related ITRC documents into one single document that represent the current state of the practice and effectively retire the previous documents. The previous ITRC documents include: Vapor Intrusion Pathway: A Practical Guidance (VI-1, 2007), Petroleum Vapor Intrusion: Fundamentals of Screening, Investigation, and Management (PVI 1, 2014), and Technical Resources for Vapor Intrusion Mitigation (VIM-1, 2021).
